Outside of feverently believing in the philosophy of TuneCore - and also believing we are making a good positive difference in the world - the other very cool part is meeting and talking with a lot of artists, many of which I have listened to - and respected - for years.
I recently had the priviledge of speaking with Izzy Stradlin as Izzy had four albums he wanted in iTunes. He used TuneCore to deliver them.
For those of you who think you are not familiar with Izzy's work, well, you probably are, you just don't know you it. Izzy wrote (and played guitar on): "Patience","Used Ta Love Her", "Brownstone","Think About You","You Could be Mine" and co wrote on all of the other Guns 'N Roses hits like "Welcome to the Jungle", "Paradise City", "Right Next Door To Hell", "Night Train", "Don't Cry" and more
Izzy was in Guns 'N Roses until 1991. He played and co/wrote w/axl and the band on all of the music they put out from the 80`s through 1991.
Post GNR, Izzy released four solo albums (so for those of you out there that have been following his career this does not count the album with the Ju Ju Hounds) - Like a Dog, On Down the Road,River and Ride On. All are damn good.
And here I am talking to him on the phone learning about what it was like to be in one of the most important influential bands in the world and a thought occured to me - others would probably find this conversation very interesting as well. So I simply asked if Izzy would allow me to "interview" him for a TuneCore podcast. He said "yes".
Which brings me to the point of this Blog posting - I figured there might be some questions some people might have that they would like me to ask Izzy for the second TuneCore podcast. If you do, post them here and I will make sure to get the good ones in.
Check these pictures out:

I need him to tell me where this is. It looks kinda like Surfer's Paradise in East Australia. I need to know more about these pictures and Izzy's thoughts on Skateboarding and its progression in the last 30 years.
Izzy has always been a hero of mine. G'n'R wasn't even CLOSE to ever being the same after he left.
Cheers!

Izzy's solo stuff has always been good -- I remember owning a copy of the Ju Ju Hounds album on cassette -- but I'd be interested to know if there's anyone he's wanted to collaborate with in a group setting. If the right people were there, and the expectations were right, what sort of music would he want to make with a group these days?
I'd also be interested to see if he's ever seen any of the Guns 'n Roses tribute bands out there, like Paradise City, and what it's like watching someone pretend to be him!

Hiya, Jeff...
I was a fan of spinART, and remembered talking to Brendan a few times when I used to be a reviewer, and did stuff on Frank Black and The Catholics and Apples In Stereo, Poole, etc. I love what you're doing with Tunecore, and also recently tried out the CD Manufacturing service - was really impressed with the quality and prices. Thank you all for what you're doing for independent artists everywhere.
My questions for Izzy, if it's not too late....
For someone who started out immersed in the peak of major labels having limitless power, what has it been like to to watch the changing of the tides as it has started to unfold? Were you excited, scared, a little of both? Did you feel like you had to start over, or did you feel like you learned enough as a major artist to be able to make the transition to independence better?

Sorry to post here, but needs must!! you'll see why!
THIS IS THE 5TH EMAIL IN 5 DAYS TO SUPPORT AND STILL NO REPLY. Somethings gotta give. Your dealing with a father and a 5 year old son with special needs.
As follows:
OK, this is me... trying again, although I think it's time to talk to the 'organ grinder', 'big cheese', 'numero uno'.. what's his name again, ahhhh thats it, Jeff.. Jeff Price, because you guys, for some unknown reason are ignoring me and I have a wealth of emails to forward to the right person.
So what was wrong with the last emails after all I'm just a guy in a great big void of digital turmoil wonderering if there will ever be an answer to those elusive but not unsermountable questions I keep asking, hoping even praying for the answers and not difficult ones, so take a look and let me know what you think, please put me out of my misery! and I will try to never darken your doorstep again, 'try' being the operative word:
'Come on guys, one of you must know what to say? (I am approachable, Honest)
To: Helen Harris, Justin Mitchell, Megan Broat
Let's try again.
Hi again
Here's hoping you reply and explain why I have had to renew my album so early that the next renewal date is in 2010 just so I can see my album live again, I dont understand why my album was taken off live status when it was not even time to renew, please please explain the logic behind your business acrument because quite frankly I don't get it. I pay for a year, I have problems in the first month or so with the album not showing then after four months you take the album of live status and the only way I can see it again is if I pay the renewal fee.
So, I'm sure with the fact that this is a song for charity, you in your willingness to make amends could give the song some extra marketing and promotion, after all it could only help you and I would be quite happy to have a link put on the Williams Syndrome website expressing our gratitude and a big thankyou to Tunecore for all their help.
How about it? a small price to pay for customer satisfaction, hmmm.
I really really really look forward to your reply.
Kind regards
Kirby Howarth and Ewan, my son with WS. The song 'Shine' is about him.'

Just want to say thanks for the songs and the memories and absently teaching me how to play guitar and for turning me on to the Stones, Muddy Waters and Howlin Wolf. Lovin the albums man.
The question being do you ever plan to tour the UK and Ireland? I'm in the band Twisted Rose and we have supported Adler's Appetite and Gilby and would be interested in promoting an 'Izzy' tour. Give us a shout.
Cheers.
